Gorges du Blavet

For a hiking tour with fantastic views, we can recommend the Gorges du Blavet, a small wooded canyon lined with red walls of volcanic stone. It offers geologic curiosities such as the cave of Muréron, a prehistoric cave where traces of human presence of -12.000 years were found. Further on you will climb the hill of Cuckoo's Stone (Col de la Pierre du Coucou) with superb views of the Esterel mountains and the towns of Fréjus and Saint-Raphaël.

Distance = 3.6km, +/- 2,5h walking over 150m slope

To avoid after days of heavy rainfall because the water flow needs to be crossed several times therefore difficulty depending on the flow; generally little to zero in summer.

At 9 minutes driving from our villa Terre d'Azur: Grande Rue 575, Bagnols-en-Forêt (on the road to La Bouverie (D47)). Parking place is available.
